SURPRISE GUESTS—Anthony popped the question by the pond at Young’s Vineyard in the Shenandoah Valley. After the yes and some tears, they headed back to the car to collect their picnic lunch, and Julie started to call her aunt and uncle, who she’s very close to, and share the news. She heard giggling, looked up, and there they stood, along with her best friend and her husband. “Anthony had pre-arranged to have them there to share in our special day,” says Julie. “It meant so much to me.”
TIE THE KNOT—They tied a fisherman’s knot during their ceremony. “I lost my dad when I was in college and one of the things we loved to do was fish together,” Julie says. They also incorporated her great-grandfather’s 1952 Ford truck—sat on the tailgate as they rode into their reception.
BIG GAMES—Corn hole, life-size jenga and the ring toss kept guests active during the reception. Anthony is a hunter, so the corn hole game was custom-designed with camo and deer head artwork.
DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY—Julie and Anthony started their first dance as a slow song, then broke into a line dance followed by a country swing dance.
