Brides and grooms wanting to add a vintage vibe to their wedding photos may consider hiring local photographer Leonard Flory, who shoots weddings using an antique camera from 1926. According to Flory, the camera—an Ansco/Agfa—is the same style, brand and year of camera that famed photographer Ansel Adams used. In fact, Flory was an associate of Adams and accompanied Adams on some photo shoots back in the day.
Good to know: You’ll want to hire another photographer to grab all of the day’s details; Flory describes himself as an “add on” so that brides can have a few vintage-style photos in addition to the main photographer’s digital images, as his work is not meant to take the place of a wedding photographer. In fact, your photographer may want to take photos of Flory taking photos with his camera.
And if your guests have questions, Flory says that he’s happy to chat up your guests, about the camera, working with Adams or photography in general.
You can inquire more with Flory himself by calling (916) 410-1958 or emailing leonardflory@gmail.com.
